Jane Mugo

“There is nothing as fulfilling as unearthing data-driven insights that result in positive and sustainable impact.”  I believe that organizations must put incessant focus on understanding their customers, target beneficiaries, and other stakeholders if they are to make any meaningful and sustainable progress. Research is the only way that you can achieve this acumen.

With over 20 years of market and social research experience, Jane Mugo has conducted numerous studies for prominent corporates and agencies such as Colgate Palmolive, Toyota Kenya, KenGen, Kenya Power, KRA, Trade & Development Bank as well as international humanitarian and development organizations including World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, African Union, COMESA, and World Food Programme among others. Jane has also been involved in countless studies for international NGOs seeking information on needs assessments, baseline indicators to inform their projects’ designs and log frames, mid-term reviews, end-of-project evaluation, and monitoring & evaluations (M&E) of ongoing projects.

She has conducted surveys for World Vision, Save the Children, VSF Germany, GIZ, Africa Child Policy Program, Action Aid, Kenya Red Cross, Islamic Relief, Christian Aid, Farm Africa, and Oxfam, to mention but a few. Being an accomplished researcher, she has carved out a name for herself in Africa’s Research industry.

To keep abreast with the industry trend, Jane is a member of the global ESOMAR (European Society of Opinion & Market Research), the continental AMRA (Africa Market Research Association) and the local Evaluation Society of Kenya (ESK), Marketing & Social Research Association (MSRA), and Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK).

Her extensive experience in the design and implementation of research initiatives for community development projects in Africa has won her many opportunities to participate in various research conferences as a Speaker.

Jane’s proficiency is perceptible in how she leads PARS Research and how she has managed to make the company a market leader in Africa’s research realm. Under her leadership, PARS Research has provided technical assistance to a wide range of local and international organizations. She has also directed hundreds of research projects locally (in Kenya) and in entire Sub-Saharan Africa.

Moreover, Jane has authored over 150 technical/market intelligence reports, custom studies, and client presentations involving observations, analyses, and co-creation activities for community interventions and solutions. Being a veteran senior research consultant, she has guided many companies venturing into new product portfolios and new markets.
